trucks home each night to be ready to respond to emergencies and to be on the
job promptly in the morning. Parts, special tools and paperwork are delivered
to them in the field by a supply fleet. Their trucks are serviced and inspected
every 3,000 miles in a stringent preventive maintenance program to guard
against equipment failure. Cross-trained dispatchers are able to interpret
customers' needs and send the service technicians out informed and equipped to
tackle the repair or maintenance without delay. Expert warehousemen make
certain the proper tools and materials are supplied. And, in addition to all of
the above, the Metro Mechanical brand maintains the largest parts inventory in
the Valley--larger, it is said, than some of the company's parts suppliers.
